Brabus Presents Mercedes GL 63 Biturbo

Brabus decided to continue his fast Mercedes-Benz line up and presented the GL 63 Biturbo, a SUV fitted with a turbocharged version of the eight cylinder produced by AMG. The same engine is also used to power Brabus’ ML 63 Biturbo.

According to the tuner, “this engine establishes the BRABUS GL 63 Biturbo among the world's most powerful SUVs. The engine has a rated power output of 650 hp (641 bhp) / 478 kW at a low 6,200 rpm. The maximum torque of 850 Nm (626 lb-ft) is available on a plateau between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm.”

“In combination with a modified SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive this engine delivers performance previously unimaginable for a vehicle of this type: The BRABUS GL63 Biturbo accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.7 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).”

“Naturally the vehicle's aerodynamic properties, tires, suspension and brakes are all adapted to this enormous performance potential.”

For a different look, the GL is available with the Widestar package, which includes including 3-centimeter wide fender flares, rocker panels, a new front apron and larger air inlets. The car also has LED daytime running lights, underfloor lighting and four extra headlamps. Roof spoiler, rear apron and rear diffuser have all been installed, as well as a quad-pipe exhaust. The modified interior includes Mastik leather, Alcantara, wood or carbon-fiber trim, LCD screens integrated into the seats.

If interested in a car like this, the GL 63 Biturbo costs 368,000 Euros. That might seem like a lot, but there aren’t many seven seaters out there which can do 300km/h.
