The speed test was carried out on the Nardo speed track in Italy on October 19, 2009. This very special GLK model was fitted with a 12-cylinder twin turbo engine from BRABUS, which develops 750 hp (552 kW).
As Automobilesreview.com reported, the powerplant in the BRABUS GLK V12 is lubricated with ARAL Synthetic motor oil, delivers 750 hp (552 kW) at 5,500 rpm and produces a peak torque of 1,350 Nm (995 lb-ft) at 2,100 rpm, electronically limited to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).
The SUV is only rear-wheel drive and, using a modified five-speed automatic transmission, sprints from 0 to 100 km in 4.2 seconds - supercar performance territory.
Along the heavily modified suspension and braking system, the aerodynamics were adjusted as well, having a special aero kit that includes: front apron, front carbon-fiber spoiler lip, front and rear fender flares, custom-tailored rocker panels with LED lights, rear roof spoiler, rear apron and custom cutouts, which provides perfect backdrop for the BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system.
Of course the BRABUS GLK V12 is fitted with adjustable suspension, but a thing that sets it apart is the 22” BRABUS Monoblock set of alloy wheels. The inside was redone as you’ve might expected and features an exclusive fully leather interior, sport steering wheel, speedometer with a 330-km/h (205-mph) scale and stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS WIDESTAR logo.
This special SUV will be officially premiered at the Dubai International Motor show with a price tag of 397,000 Euros.
