BMW X5 M and X6 M Dress Up in Pyrite Brown and Azurite Blue Individual Paints

BMW started quite an interesting habit a couple of months ago, when they decided to unveil some of the Individual paints available for their newest models through Facebook. The page of the Motorsport division is usually in charge of such reveals and the X5 M and X6 M models were no different.

Just last night, a couple of photos of the two were posted online, showing the duo wearing those expensive paint jobs. The X5 M was dressed in Pyrite Brown Individual while the X6 M is seen wearing one of our favorite colors, Azurite Blue Individual.

However, since the Individual program addresses all areas of a car, the interior was also put through the same treatment, the weapon of choice being the extended Merino leather upholstery in smoke white. The headliner was done in the same hue but out of Alcantara while the trims went the other way around, with Piano Black. To show off the high level of craftsmanship the workers have, the dash was done in contrasting brown leather.

That’s just a taste of what can be done on these cars. It’s pretty obvious that BMW wants to set itself up as a worthy luxurious proposition to those looking for super powerful SUVs with prices to match. Oh yes, you didn’t think this comes for free, right?

The X5 M has a starting price of $99,650 in the US while the X6 M starts at even more, $103,050 to be exact. Chip in the expensive leather and paint and you’ll be swimming in $120,000 territory in no time.

For that kind of money you do get some serious performance though. The 4.4-liter V8 under the bonnet was reworked and is now making 575 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. You also get a new gearbox and xDrive which means you’ll be doing 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds. No time to think about how much you spent, just press the gas pedal!
