After receiving praises for its Super Bowl XLIX commercial for the i3, BMW’s USA branch came out with yet another ad, this time for the BMW F15 X5. This one, however, is funny more than thought-provoking.
It all starts out normal, with a family heading out to some picnic or something, with the parents in the front, kids in the back and a grandmother stuck all the way in the back, on the third row. This is a commercial after all, and the aim was probably to emphasize the fact that the X5 is available in both 5 and 7-seat configurations.
From our own experience, getting in that third row demands some skills worthy of Nadia Comaneci’s name but hey, if they though getting granny to sit back there instead of a kid, who are we to complain?
As I said, this is a commercial and while the patronizing grandmother tells the driver that she knows a faster way (what a surprise, right?) she also praises the leather in the car. The obvious response is that ‘it’s the Premium Package’. Totally makes sense, once again, as if the old-timer knows the configurator by heart.
Hilarity, however ensues immediately after and will make it all better. The response of the granny is absolutely funny and so is what she had to say next. Of course, we won’t spoil the fun and let you watch the whole thing but still, that was an awesome idea, BMW! Let us know what kind of leather do you like…
