The M8 Competition Gran Coupe, GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe, and Panamera Turbo in the featured clip are not stock. All of them have been tuned by the folks at DMS Automotive in Southampton, which explains the RHD configuration of said vehicles.
Presented in German by Daniel Hohmeyer of carwow Deutschland rather than English by Mat Watson of carwow United Kingdom, the video kicks off with the specs. The heaviest car of the bunch is the Panamera Turbo, which tips the scales at 2,080 kilograms or pounds. Following the software tuning from DMS Automotive, its twin-turbocharged V8 produces a massive 740 pferdestarke (730 horsepower) and 1,000 Nm (736 pound-feet), channeled to the wheels by a PDK.

The GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe is actually a five-door liftback with a nine-speed automatic that differs from the 9G-TRONIC by means of a wet start-off clutch instead of a torque converter. It matches the Porker in terms of power, yet improves on torque with 1,050 Nm or 774 pound-feet. It's also lighter, but not by much at 2,045 kilos or 4,508 pounds.

As for the BMW, this example of the M8 Competition Gran Coupe is rocking 800 pferdestarke (789 horsepower) and 900 Nm (664 pound-feet) from a displacement of 4.4 liters compared to 4.0 liters for the other two. An extra 60 metric ponies can make a world of difference in a straight-line showdown, and the same can be said about the weight (1,995 kilos or 4,398 pounds).

No fewer than four drag races later, the best elapsed time of the Bimmer was 10.9 seconds. The M8 Competition Gran Coupe won two races, matching the winning streak of the AMG, which also clocked 10.9 seconds. The second-gen Porsche Panamera Turbo settled for third place with a best of 11.0 seconds, a hugely impressive number for a car devoid of electrical assistance and this heavy.

Next up, Daniel and crew raced the vehicles from a 50-mph (80 kph) rolling start over the half mile. On both occasions, the M8 Competition Gran Coupe proved too much for the AMG, with the Panamera Turbo finishing third in both races. The automaker from Zuffenhausen, however, made amends in the 100-mph (circa 160 kph) emergency braking test.

Everyone and their dog knew that BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche make stupidly quick cars. Be that as it may, cracking into the 10s with nothing more than software tuning is pretty ridiculous. To put those 10.9- and 11.0-second ETs into perspective, Chevrolet advertises the C8-generation Corvette Stingray with 11.2 seconds at 121 miles per hour (195 kph) in the quarter mile.

As opposed to $68,300 sans destination charge for the most affordable of C8s in production today, the M8 Competition Gran Coupe starts at $138,000 in the US market. BMW claims 3.0 seconds to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) as opposed to 3.1 seconds for the GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe, which is $170,350 at the moment of reporting. The Panamera entered its third generation for the 2024 model year, and the combustion-only Turbo is no more. On the bright side, its plug-in hybrid replacement is more powerful and frugal to boot.

Also rated at 3.0 seconds, the most powerful series-production Panamera for model year 2024 starts at $191,000 and can be driven in electric mode at speeds no higher than 87 mph (140 kph). Not long now, the 670-horsepower brute will be joined by an even punchier sib that should exceed the 690 horsepower of the previous-generation Turbo S E-Hybrid.
