Revealed with much pomp in November 2023 for the 2024 model year, the third-generation Panamera is now available in five distinct flavors. At launch, the German automaker confirmed the starting prices of the purely internal combustion Panamera ($102,800 sans destination charge) and the all-wheel-drive Panamera 4 (starting at $109,800).
Back in February 2024, the Zuffenhausen-based automaker expanded the lineup with two plug-in hybrids in the guise of the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid. Similar to the ICE-only versions, both pack a 2.9L twin-turbo V6 that should be familiar to Audi enthusiasts. More specifically, said engine is used in the RS 4 Avant, RS 5, and various S models such as the S6.

Porsche has recently updated the build & price tool for the Panamera stateside, which lists the V6-engined Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid at $115,500 and $126,800. The big news, however, is the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. At $191,000 before optional extras, it's a staggering $64,200 more than the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid.

But Porsche isn’t done yet, no siree! In the second paragraph of the press release for the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid, the company that gave us the Neunelfer in 1964 states that "four performance variants of this advanced powertrain technology" will be offered in total.

Reading between the lines, the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid will be overshadowed by a punchier version of the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain. And looking at the bigger picture, this presumption makes plenty of sense due to the MLB Evo-based Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid's 729 horsepower compared to the MSB-based Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid's output of 670 horsepower.

Regardless of version, the 2024 Porsche Panamera is listed with a destination charge of $1,995 in the United States market. Porsche reported its best retail sales ever in the US last year, moving 75,415 vehicles. On a worldwide basis, the grand total is 320,221 vehicles, of which the Cayenne and Macan accounted for 87,553 and 87,355 examples.

The Panamera sold a respectable 34,020 units, of which the US market accounted for 4,205 or 12.3 percent of the model's total sales volume. Rather than outright acceleration performance (3.0 seconds to 60 miles per hour or 97 kilometers per hour for the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid), the liftback sedan's party piece is the Active Ride suspension.

Optionally available on E-Hybrid versions, Active Ride comprises active shock absorbers, an electrically operated hydraulic pump, and one-chamber air suspension to save weight over the standard two-chamber air suspension. Obviously enough, Active Ride absorbs road imperfections while distributing wheel loads to optimize grip.

Active Ride is also programmed to lean the vehicle forward when accelerating, tilt back under braking, lean into the corner, and raise the ride height for easier ingress and egress while parked. Care to guess how much it costs? Option code 1P8 is $7,150 at press time, resulting in a total MSRP of $200,145 for the 2024 Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid.
