The BMW M3 CSL sounds like the perfect machine to blitz the Nurburgring in. Sure, there are quicker way of lapping the infamous German track, but the mix between the respectable chronograph number and the uber-immersive driving experience is what recommends the Bavarian toy. Howevewr, the driver of such an E46 nearly crashed his Bimmer while trying to enjoy the Green Hell experience.
The shenanigan took place during an event called Green Hell Driving Days, which saw tons of machines storming the Ring.

Unsurprisingly, it was the Schwedenkreuz bend that caught the M3 CSL driver off guard. In fact, we can see the car oversteering as it enters the bend. Sx, as friends call this corner, is one of the most dangerous twists of the Nordschleife, despite having been targeted by the 2019 track safety updates.

The driver failed to bring the rear end back in line, so the machine started spinning. And entering the grass on the inside the said bend obviously made things worse.

And the high entry speed (this is one of the elements that make Sx so tricky) meant the one behind the wheel had to wrestle the BMW until this came to halt.

The car stopped close to the metallic protection element on the side of the track. Fortunately, the machine doesn't seem to have taken any damage, aside from a few possible stone chips.

Of course, we can't rule out the possibility of a slippery track just ahead of the said corner entry, even though this bend doesn't need something like that to cause a spin - those who are unaware of the Nurburgring's layout are surprised by Sx, step into the brakes while steering into the corner and lose control.

Speaking of grip issues, while you can find the M3 CSL ordeal at the 8:36 point of the clip below, the rest of the video is also worthy of attention. For instance, you might want to see the the massive fuild spill episode at the 1:55 point or the angry worker vawing his broom at passing drivers from the opening section of the clip.
