Recent reports suggested BMW was pulling out of the ‘i’ venture. These might have been exaggerated, but even so, we were surprised to hear they might be showing a new concept car next month at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The i4 is rumored to be a sportier version of the i3, featuring only two seats and two doors. Sound like a coupe to us, but then again, BMW is reinventing the way we look at cars, so anything is possible.
This new concept would use the same CFRP technology to save weight and could be powered by a similar electric drivetrain to the i3’s 168 hp (125 kW).
This rumor since a bit far fetched, seeing as BMW always unveils these concepts about a month before the actual shows. But given the research money the have at their disposal, we wouldn’t be that surprised if a concept actually pops up.
