As expected, rumors about an M version of the i3 started going around ever since BMW said the name of the electric car. Somehow people can't get it in their heads that the i3 will never be a proper sports car.
The EV was built from the ground up to be a daily commute car, easy on the pocket and the environment. Even if we were to see an M version, it probably still be electric and won't have great range so what would be the point?
No matter though, people will continue to speculate. The guys from TopSpeed, for example, just released a rendering of how such a model could look like. With an angrier face and incredibly big air intakes on the front bumper, this rendering looks mean.
The mirror caps received M stripes whist the side sills seem to have arrived straight out of an M Performance catalog. Even the wheels were changed into double spoke style 433 M models, coming as standard on the M6 Gran Coupe.
The whole thing looks good but it has small chances to ever make it to production. One can dream though, right?
