Germany and the better part of Central Europe has been struggling with massive floods these last few days. The damages in insurance claims only reached €3 billion ($4 billion) and the number is expected to grow.
In the light of the new situation that hit even Bavaria, the home of BMW, the German company decided to help the nearby communities affected by the floods by any means they can.

The company's fire service and a large number of employees already provided support for the nearby area in every way they could. Furthermore the Group will donate €1.5 million ($2 million) for the communities around BMW plants in Dingolfing/Landshut, Regensburg/Wackersdorf and the Leipzig-Halle region.

The fire service has primarily assisted with draining of the contaminating water, utilising special vehicles from the Regensburg, Munich, Dingolfing and Landshut plants’ fire services and the corresponding command vehicles.
