Unfortunately for some of us, the E91 3 Series Touring came fitted as standard with roof rails, devices that were meant to bring even further functionality to the all-purpose BMW.
So, in light of this unfortunate decision, some forum members got together to see what they could do about it, since they thought the car would look better without those add-ons on the roof.
Cutting them off is definitely not an option but removing them is. The process is not too tricky but it does require some courage, to actually tear-apart your car and take those things down.
The DIY guide includes words like "pull pretty hard", "ripping" and "removing", words that can make your heart skip a beat if you love your car. However, if you're careful, everything should be fine and you'll be done in one or maximum two hours. Good luck!
