There comes a time in every motorist's life when he has to do some work on his car. Some operations are easy to do, for some you should go to an authorized service in order to get it done.
One of the easiest things you'll have to do to your car is changing the spark plugs. This routine job is done at a certain number of kilometers, depending on the car brand and model.

Overall, the process is real easy but it may seem complicated if you don't know the exact steps you have to take when starting the work on your car. That's why we went out and looked for an easy and complete DIY to help you out.

The things you need for this whole ordeal are:
  • Flat Head Screwdriver
  • 3/4 Ratchet
  • 3/4 Breaker Bar
  • 3/4 Extensions (6"+)
  • 5/8" Spark Plug Socket
  • Torque Wrench
  • 10mm Socket
  • 19mm Socket
  • TORX 30 Socket
  • OEM Spark Plugs (Code 64 31 9 071 935 for the E46 3 Series).
The number of spark plugs depends on the model. The DIY we're showing was made on a 325xi model which had a 6-cylinder engine. That means it needed 6 plugs. When you're all set, click here and get to work. Good luck!
