BMW 1M Coupe Could Get a Hardcore Special Edition

As BMW is preparing to unleash the E82 1M coupe model, automotive designer Jon Sibal is offering us the subject of an even hotter dream, hinting that the vehicle could get an even more performance-orientated special edition.

Sibal communicated with BMW sources who told him that the 1M Coupe could get a limited edition “beast” incarnation, a vehicle that would be inspired from cars like the e36 LTW, E46 CSL and E92 GTS.

Anything is possible, we have ideas and the creativity to expand. In the end it all comes down to the reception of the car. 1M is more personal than any other M car. It has to be more upfront with the customer because it is developed entirely for the customer who want something pure,” the BMW source told Sibal.

BMW initially planned to launch the 1M coupe as a limited edition, with a production volume of only 2,700 models. Subsequently, the company changed its mind and deiced to producer a higher volume. However, the production is scheduled to end in spring 2012. This is because the E82 series will go out of production later in the year.

After he got the interesting news from the German carmaker, the designer decided to create a rendering, in order to show us a hardcore incarnation of the 1M Coupe could look. You can check out his website for more info.

We’ll remind you that the 1M Coupe will be powered by a twin-turbo inline six-cylinder unit that will allow the driver to play with 340 hp.
