BMW 1 Series M Coupe Shows More Shapes

After a few bad leads and rumors of the imminent launch of BMW's M division's more aggressive 1 Series, we are still left with as bitter taste of defeat. Time passes and the 1 Series M Coupe as BMW calls it is still to show its face. Fortunately, or not, the carmaker doesn't plan to let this one go; from time to time, more images, let's call them teasers, are released.

As you will see for yourselves in the photos below, there's not much novelty to it. The 1 Series M does show some more shapes, but not it's own shapes. Look at the photos and you'll see what we mean.

The car is apparently lurking on the streets of Paris, the place where a huge auto show is in progress these
days. As you can see, the car did not make it on the BMW booth at the show, nor does it present much more than the left-side front corner we're used to by now. This time however, we also get a glimpse at the back end of the car.

According to BMWblog, more is to follow in the coming days (we know, we said that at the end of August too and nothing happened). Luckily, perhaps this time things will be a bit different.

Until some hard evidence comes our way, we're left with the assumptions. As far as everybody knows, the car will be powered by a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine developing 345 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft of torque. The unit will be paired to an M-DCT transmission, but a manual transmission version will be on the counter as well. And yes, the car will come in bright orange, a color which BMW says “will make history'.
