Blue Apollo IE Hypercar Looks Like $2.7 Million, Does Donuts at Goodwood

The original IE was a deep shade of purple, almost black. But the one presented this week is an inky blue. While we will miss the exposed carbon fiber bodywork, we still feel that this rare hypercar is worth every cent of its $2.7 million price tag.

There are a bunch of fake hypercar out there that look like they were put together using eBay parts. However, the Emozione is legit' because it's made by the supercar shop responsible for the Gumpert Apollo.

Knowing how savage that thing was, we're not surprised to see its successor do donuts in the Goodwood parking lot. Apparently, torturing the tires is the only way an exotic car can do turns here.

The epic machine is reportedly powered by a 6.3-liter V12 engine derived from the one used in the Ferrari F12tdf. It makes around 780 horsepower and 560 lb-ft (759 Nm) of torque, enough to get you from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of over 335 km/h (208 mph).

The bodywork is simply out of this world, with a wing towering over the back and alien creases and curves everywhere. The blue paint and gold wheels somehow ground Roland Gumpert's creation, though. Why would you ever need such insane bodywork? To show off in front of a Koenigsegg Regera at the Goodwood FoS, which is one of the few places in the world where such machines can let loose.

Also, the aero is supposed to create 1,350kg of downforce at 300 km/h (186 mph). For the record, that's less than the thing weighs.
