Bentley has just rolled out a bespoke limited edition of the Bentayga. The special version is inspired by Private Jack White, who was awarded the Victoria Cross after World War 1.
Commissioned by Bentley Manchester and Mulliner and sold fast to a local enthusiast, the model is a one-of-one and can be instantly recognized. It proudly wears copper detailing, referring to the copper line that Private White used to save the lives of his comrades. There is copper in the seat piping, embroidery, and other bespoke elements. Meanwhile, organ stops finished in anodized copper are visible on the dashboard.

There is bespoke sewing onboard, reflecting the V.C. design origins. The silhouette of the Cottenham House, the Private White V.C. factory built in 1853, shows up on the wood-veneered passenger dashboard.

Furthermore, the sewing lines reflect the style and functionality of military clothing. The Victoria Cross emblem shows up on the headrests. Loose cushions at the rear have been made of a Lancashire-woven cashmere cloth to commemorate Jack White's regimental blanket stripe.

A representation of the company's unofficial mascot, a bulldog, can be found in the door pockets subtly embroidered.

The Bentayga is painted in Dark Sapphire with Blackline Specification and rear privacy glass. The SUV rides on unique color-matched 22-inch wheels with copper accents.

The customer who drives the special edition Bentayga home will also receive a capsule collection of bespoke clothing, handcrafted by Private White V.C.

The Bentley Bentayga Azure is the variant that the one-off is based on. This means that it is powered by a hybrid powertrain, which integrates a 4.0-liter V8 good for 542 horsepower (550 metric horsepower) and 568 pound-feet (770 Newton meters) of torque. Those are enough for a run from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph (290 kph).

Born on December 23, 1896, in Leeds, Private Jack White enrolled in the army in World War 1, being enlisted in the sixth Battalion King's Own. He served in the Middle East at Gallipoli and Mesopotamia in Iraq.

He was awarded the Victoria Cross for saving the life of an officer, other men, and also equipment during an attempt of his company to cross the Dial River under heavy machine gunfire on the night of March 7 to March 8, 1917.

Seeing that his boat was about to come under fire, he jumped overboard, tied a copper line to it and around himself, and swam to the shore, helping the vessel to land. However, most men on board were either dead or severely wounded.

Private Jack White returned to Manchester as a war hero and started life as an apprentice in his local raincoat factory. In 1934, he was appointed general manager. Three years later, he became the sole owner of the factory. In the 1940s, his factory supplied waterproof parkas to the RAF.

The production facility is still operating today. Over 100 people of 13 different nationalities produce high-quality garments using only regionally sourced clothing and materials.
