Bentley Bentayga Two-Door Pickup Truck Rendering Is Ridiculous and Cool

The pickup truck has different standings depending on the market. For instance, Europeans aren't too big on it, whereas Americans couldn't live without it. And then there are the Australians and South Africans who came up with cute little names for them (utes and bakkies, respectively).
However, the idea of a truly luxury pickup truck would seem ridiculous to pretty much every person on the planet, and that's because, at the end of the day, they are still the quintessential utility vehicle. Does Prada make overalls? Who even knows these days, but you get the idea.

Having said this, don't be surprised if somewhere in Dubai, someone seeing this rendering will immediately pick up the phone with one hand, calling their local Bentley dealership to ask for one, while writing endless zeros on a check with the other hand.

To be fair to this fictional Dubai resident we've just created, we finally have a Bentayga-based pickup that looks nice. Really nice. It turns out all it needed for a successful metamorphosis was to remove the rear doors, essentially making it a Bentley Supercab pickup.

Given the not very practical slope of the rear window, those rear seats won't just be difficult to access due to the size of the doors, but also pretty tough to sit in without banging the head against the rear window every time the driver pushes the throttle.

With a W12 engine under the hood, that might happen pretty often. The spectacular 6.0-liter engine is only available on the Bentayga Speed version of the SUV, but we're pretty sure our friend from Dubai wouldn't settle for the measly 4.0-liter V8 the standard model is equipped with.

Leaving fantasy behind, there's a very good reason you can't go above a certain level of luxury in the pickup market. Cadillac has tried it with the Escalade EXT, for instance, but gave up after sales confirmed it wasn't a good idea. Nowadays, you can get a decent level of premiumness in models such as the Ford F-150 or Chevrolet Silverado, or even the Mercedes-Benz X-Class if size isn't that important. Anything beyond that, though, and you're entering custom project territory.
