Drifting is one of the wackiest motorsports out there. Where else can you watch sportscars with missing bumpers, huge filters sicking out from the hood, two inches above the ground, going sideways just a step from another car?
Probably in a demolition derby, but there is another story and those cars were made to collide with each other several times, whereas in drifting you have to mimmic what the competitor in front of you does, as close as you can without touching.
Australian Drift Champion Beau Yates confirmed his return for the 2013 Tectaloy International Drift Challenge in his Toyota AE 86 which you can see in action down in the short clip bellow. Also, Beau is starting a new project - he received a brand new Toyota GT 86 which follows to be transformed into a 350 kW drift car. Stay tuned for more as he makes some progress.
