Not too long ago we were telling you that AWE Tuning is planning on releasing aftermarket parts for the BMW range as well, straying a little from their known products that are usually appealing to the Volkswagen Group alternatives. Now, they released a couple of videos showcasing the results of their work.
Their initial portfolio is more impressive than you might think. The models covered include the new M3 and M4, 2 Series, 3 Series and 4 Series. As a matter of fact, we’re really impressed by what we see here and it really does feel like a ‘Bavarian Invasion’ as they boldly claim on their website.

The most attention was given to the F80 M3 and F82 M4, of course, the sedan and coupe receiving new brakes, exhausts, intakes and suspension alternatives.

On the brake front, you get a couple of choices, eight to be more precise. All of them come from Brembo and can be had either with 4-piston or 6-piston calipers and in various combinations, from slotted to cross drilled discs.

The biggest interest might be in the exhaust department, though. That’s where plenty of customers will be looking at since nobody complained about the brakes on the new models too much, even in standard guise.

The AWE so-called ‘Exhaust Suite’ includes duel 3” CNC mandrel pipes that will actually allow you to get some extra 20 HP and 31 lb-ft (40 Nm) of torque. If those figures are accurate, the output of you car should reach some 450 HP and 437 lb-ft (590 Nm) of torque. That’s impressive, especially since it comes from simply changing the exhaust.

As for the tips, you can get them in either 90 mm or 102 mm sizes. Being made from stainless steel, they get lifetime warranty and that’s something you don’t see every day. The AWE guys are off to a good start.

Intakes and exhausts for the N20 and N55 range ahoy!

The rest of the range of products are limited to intakes and and exhaust for the 228i, 235i, 335i, 328i, 428i and 435i models. Basically, the guys put together the same kit for N20 and N55 engines but they’re highly appreciated.

The intakes are made of carbon fiber and are supposedly going to help with increasing the mass of air absorbed by the engine along with decreasing the overall weight of the cars (not by too much, don’t get your hopes up).

On the exhaust side of things, the N55 plants get a 15 HP and 32 lb-ft (50 Nm) of torque increase up to 321 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque according to them while the N20 plants get a gain of 13 HP and 13 lb-ft (18 Nm) of torque, getting the grand total up to 258 and 368 Nm (271 lb-ft) of torque.

Those numbers seem a little high to us to come just from changing the exhaust. The thing is, BMW is offering that amount of performance via its M Performance Power Kit for the N55 plant and that includes an ECU re-flash as well.

Either way, it’s good to have as many alternatives as possible out there and the addition of AWE tuning to the list of BMW tuners that make quality products is well appreciated.
