As always, Audi has something new prepared for its fans but they seem to have encountered a problem similar to that of a “writer’s block.” The company is having some issues with its A9. We’re not talking about technical problems, but design ones.
It appears that they haven’t decided what kind of design, body style will suit the flagship model best. According to marketing chief Luca de Meo, having the vehicle as “a conventional coupe or Sportback wouldn't be innovative enough.”
So, one can see that Audi is very keen on making the range-topping A9 a mind-blowing and heart throbbing vehicle. This is the reason why the the company hasn’t, after such a long time, decided on which type of car will carry the highly admired A9 badge.
Still, this doesn’t mean that they don’t know what they want. Their vision is actually pretty clear as De Meo said a few days ago at the Detroit motor show. The marketing chief stated that he wants Audi to stand “for innovation and establishing the future,” and went on to say the prefers to have people buy the car for something more than “prestige and looks.”
It’s actually quite inspiring to see a company as big as Audi put so much time and effort into designing a car. This is certainly intriguing and we can’t help but wonder what they will bring us, as Audi chairman Rupert Stadler said he sees “a great deal of potential, especially in the SUV and prestigious full-size car category.”
