Rumored since late 2010, Audi's highly anticipated flagship vehicle could hit the market in the near future. Dubbed A9, the sedan that's expected to top the range in terms of luxury and technology could arrive in 2016.
This piece of information came via Auto Motor und Sport, who claims, quoting company sources, that the A9 four-door luxury sedan will be underpinned by the same platform used for the next-generation Q7 SUV. Although it may sound weird to say the least, the same report says the A9 will actually be an Allroad sedan with increased ride height. Or, to put it more simple, a crossover between an SUV and an executive four-door. The new vehicle will of course be gifted with a wide range of technology features.
Information about the Audi A9 is still scarce and for the time being we can’t really see the need for a new luxury niche. But let's say we trust the German companies on this one and we’ll be right back as soon as more details surface.
