Electric mobility is becoming more dynamic and fascinating than ever, but Audi still likes ICE-powered vehicles - it's just that they have two wheels instead of four. That way, they can also stir our imagination.
Imagine the setup. You're a hardcore bike rider, and you like to hit the track with a Ducati Panigale V4 R – which is the WSBK homologation special of the standard V4 packing a smaller 998 cc engine to comply with rules but still makes a little over 215 horsepower. Given its dry weight of 172 kg (379 lbs) or 167 kg (368 lbs) with the race kit, this is the most powerful street-legal production bike available in the world – or so I have heard. I don't know; I'm not really a bike guy anymore since I had kids and decided it's not worth the risk of leaving them without a father if I get into a crash and don't have plenty of airbags around me.

Anyway, the folks over at Audi don't mind the jeopardy of governing such a monster, and Ducati Chief Test Driver Alessandro Valia recently met with Jaan Mattes Reiling, Technical Project Manager of the Audi e-tron GT model family, for a "lively discussion regarding the fascination and safety of motorcycles and electric cars." Because they didn't come alone, the Ducati guru was accompanied by the Ducati Panigale V4 R, while Reiling arrived with something interesting – a fresh prototype for the e-tron GT family.

More precisely, Audi is using this meeting as an excuse to get us all worked up by the teaser of the refreshed e-tron GT quattro prototype. While the Ingolstadt-based automaker doesn't get into details, this could be the rumor mill's hyped twin for the recently introduced 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. Everyone expects the Audi e-tron GT to follow in the footsteps of the refreshed 2025 Taycan with more power across the board, better charging times, and expanded battery capacities.

As such, it is only natural to assume that a model similar to the Taycan Turbo GT will also come from Audi – albeit perhaps not as hardcore as the former. Tesla's Model S Plaid might not get too comfortable, though, because for sure, the current RS E-Tron GT with 637 hp and 612 lb-ft will welcome its successor with open arms and probably with just as much power as the 2025 Taycan Turbo S. Meanwhile, the new flagship for the Audi RS e-tron GT might also add the 'performance' moniker to the roster.

The teaser, meanwhile, shows a couple of camouflaged cars with big black wheels and carbon ceramic brakes hiding behind them. Most likely, Audi probably won't get the same power levels as the Taycan Turbo GT or even the 938-hp Taycan Turbo S, but the rest of the technical details could be taken over by the e-tron GT family, including the larger base and plus battery packs along with the higher charging speed of 320 kW instead of 270 kW before the refresh.
