Early last month we were telling you about Audi's plans to develop a LaFerrari and McLaren P1 rival based on its R18 Le Mans-winning racecar.
Rumored to be called R10, the Ingolstadt-based supercar would feature a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine for the rear wheels and a pair of electric motors to drive the front wheels.
The rendering uploaded above was created by TopSpeed and its designer started with the R8 we already know and "increased the proportions to make it more hypercar-ish". Fair enough! The same source claims that Audi's future supercar will be developed using the R8 E-tron, hence the similar design cues.
According to the German manufacturer, the R10 project is currently subjected to evaluation and won't see the light of day as a production vehicle for at least three years.
