Audi Offers Extended Warranty in Germany

German carmaker Audi announced the introduction of the extended warranty for its vehicles, extending the two year warranty offered now on its models by an extra three years. In addition, there will be no less than nine different option packages to go with the warranties, with respect to term and mileage.

The level of service offered by the Audi Extended Warranty is far beyond the scope typical of this market,” Bernd Hoffmann, Audi after sales and genuine parts chief said in a release. “The customer decides the mileage limit and the length of the warranty period, making risk management more transparent and predictable.

Customers can choose to extend their warranties by as much as three years and 150,000 kilometers. The warranty applies to the car, and not the driver, so selling the car would not void it. The warranty is available on all Audi models and for cars bought or leased, regardless of engine options or trim levels.

"The Audi Extended Warranty offers Audi customers numerous advantages. They receive a 100 percent manufacturer’s warranty and are also protected against many unforeseeable repair costs," the carmaker said.

"The Audi Extended Warranty is linked to the vehicle, not the driver, making it more attractive in terms of resale value. Audi is the only premium carmaker offering an extended warranty in Germany without the exclusion criteria typical of insurance plans."

Full details on the new warranty plan can be found at every Audi dealership in Germany.
