Some automakers like to promote their cars using TV and internet ads, expensive marketing campaigns which may or may not reach their target, yet there are very few who really promote their products in an interesting and catchy way.
One of the ways in which an automaker can sell more cars is by promoting them in a new and innovative way, by doing something along the lines of what Audi has done in Toronto, Canada.
The Canadian branch of the Ingolstadt automaker has teamed up with Slot Mods USA, in order to create a one-of-a-kind slot model track, featuring scaled down A4s, which were made using an industrial scanner, and an advanced 3D printer. The cars are underpinned by all-wheel drive slot car chassis, acquired from a separate company.
The cars also feature magnets to keep them stuck to the surface of the track, giving the impression of sure-footedness and grip that Audi has become famous for, since the introduction of the ‘Quattro’ all-wheel drive system.
