"Ultra" is Audi's way of saying they combined lightweight construction with efficient engines to give you lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. After the A3 Ultra revealed last year, which supposedly does 3.2 l/100km, the internet is buzzing today with news of an A6 ultra model coming to the Geneva Motor Show.
The mid-size sedan has been equipped with a brand new 2.0 TDI engine which does quite a good job at squeezing out horsepower. 190 PS of it is produced, despite this not being a twin-turbo engine, together with 400 Nm of torque. This is 13 PS and 20 Nm more than the current A6 2.0 TDI, and despite this economy is even better.
This large sedan demands only 4.4 L/100km, 0.3 less than the BMW 520d with an 8-speed auto. This figure is for the A6 Ultra with the double-clutch S tronic, but you can also buy with a manual gearbox from €42,010, though this version of the car average 4.5 L//100km.
