Since the Aston Martin Rapide, and now the new Rapide S, is a direct rival for the higher-spec versions of the Porsche Panamera, it was only natural for the idea of a shooting brake version of the British car to spring into people's minds. Why? Well, because of Porsche's Panamera Sport Turismo concept, which was very well-received.
We even wrote an entire piece on how we say Porsche should make the Panamera solely as a shooting brake.

However, this rendering by theophiluschin.com seems to be stretching things a bit too far - literally. While it does look like a plausible way for Aston to go, were they to consider making this, but it just seems a bit too long and bulky.

From the side it looks OK, even if the rear overhang is a bit exaggerated, but from the rear three-quarter view, it just looks out of place. This shows that if Aston were to design this on their own, they would have to redesign the rear end, to better suit the shooting brake style.

They may even have to ditch the signature lights in the process, and go for something which makes the rear end just a little bit less bulbous-looking and disproportionate. Still, at least we have an idea of what it may look like.
