Aston Martin and Red Bull are working on a jointly-developed hypercar called AM-RB 001.
Since most of you already knew that, we have fresh news on the topic. It appears that Adrian Newey, legendary F1 designer, will work on a track version of the hypercar. The latter might not be street-legal, but the two partners might change their minds on the configuration by the time it comes to market.
Aston Martin will only build 99 examples of the new hypercar at its Gaydon factory, but some of them will be destined for track use. In an interview with Autocar, Adrian Newey confirmed the development of a track-oriented version of the AM-RB 001 hypercar.
When compared to the standard model, the track-optimized version will feature larger wheels, a bigger rear wing, and some comfort elements will be eliminated. For example, Adrian Newey has already stated that the radio will be removed from the AM-RB 001’s track version.
Aston Martin and Red Bull did not announce the final name of their joint project. However, we do know that they want it to match the pace of a Formula 1 car on Silverstone. It is unclear whether the road-going version will achieve this, but the track-optimized variant should handle the task with ease.
