We know most of you guys can't afford an Aston Martin, especially one that's unique. But that doesn't mean we can't all enjoy something like the DB9 Spyder Zagato Centennial, just like we enjoy gold champagne coolers.
RM Sotheby's have just announced that the unique 2013 creation of coachbuilders Zagato will be auctioned off at an event held in Monterey, California.
The convertible is yet another car put together to celebrate Aston Martin's 100th anniversary. It also has a hardtop coupe painted in indigo that was presented during the 2014 Concorso D'Eleganza Villa D'Este.
Inspiration mostly came from iconic Aston Martins from the 1970s and 1980s, such as the DBS, V8 Vantage, and V8 Virage. Some consider Julia Roberts a beautiful woman, others don't, so it's up to you guys to decide if you find the Zagato appealing.
Every panel on the car is different. However, the front end is the real attention-grabber. Most of the people who see it agree that the headlights look like sad eyes. This transitions into much cleaner lines down the side to a convexly shaped rear.
The cabin remains largely untouched, but the headliner and roof canvas now match the car. If the durability of a one-off is of any concern to you, rest assured, the warranty still covers the mechanical bits until March of 2016. With 2,300 miles (3,701 km), this sad Aston can be fairly described as a trailer queen.
