It’s all about glowing in the dark these days, whether you take it metaphorically or not. And when it comes to the world’s best selling highway-capable all-electric car, Nissan literally wants it to shine. We’re talking about a phosphorescent Leaf, an idea Nissan came up with as an optional color for those willing to stand out.
The idea of an EV that glows in the dark seemed to have been quite popular among echo-conscious drivers since Nissan has now come up with a newer way to promote their illuminating idea. As opposed to the previous occasion, when they had the phosphorescent Leaf drive on Holland’s glowing highway, this time it’s rather about getting the artistic side of this car out.
Nissan had British artist Ian Cook, also known as PopbangColour, joining the team to create something unique. The 31-year-old fellow is not only a petrolhead, but he became famous for his artwork which is created solely using the unique method of painting using radio-controlled cars, car tires and toy car wheels.
In other words, Ian was the perfect man for the job, since he was asked to replicate the glowing Leaf on a higher scale only using the special paint. We’ll let you be the judge of the result after watching the video below, but before you hit play let us just add a couple of things.
In case you feel like the fellow’s name is familiar it’s because he is. You see, Cook’s artwork has been featured on Blue Peter, Top Gear, The One Show with Chris Evans and Jessie J and other shows. He also made a portrait of Lewis Hamilton the size of “two London double-decker buses” which was unveiled by Tower Bridge, in London.
