Ariel Motor Company, the small carmaker that brings the street-legal Atom track toy to life has announced an upcoming Atom race series, which is being created together with Atomic Race Management.
The series, which will debut next year and will include 8 races, will only include Cup Spec Atoms, which will be a bit lighter than the standard cars thanks to a weight reduction program. The vehicles will be powered by a 250 hp Honda Civic Type R 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine.
The cars will also receive the usual motorsport equipment, such as an enhanced rollover protection, extra gauges, as well as an Ohlins suspension. All the cars will use the same fuel and Yokohama tires.
Three race packs are available: Bronze, Silver and Gold, which are priced at £63,835, £71,985 and £83,580, respectively. The Bronze package includes the race car, race admittance, Silver adds tyres, fuel and track assistant, while Gold ups the ante with car storage, maintenance and transport. The UK Ariel Atom race series will also allow drivers to take part in the US Ariel Atom race series, which was created in 2010.
