There are a couple of things that might not be perfect on the M3 and M4 but nobody complained about the stock brakes so far. Even if they did, BMW is offering a Carbon Ceramic Brake package that should solve all those problems. The only problem is, they are pretty expensive.
To be crystal clear, you should know that they will set you back $8,150 in the US and €7,300 in Germany. That’s quite a lot, even though the price can go up on a similar set for other M models.

Sure, you get some of the best brakes in the business and you will never have to change the rotors but is it worth it? Actually, it’s not unless you track your car at least a couple of times a year.

However, for those looking for more performance than the stock versions but at a smaller price, AP Racing has just unveiled its own take on the matter.

Radi-CAL to the rescue

Thanks to their experience in motorsport events held is such locations as Le Mans and Monaco, the guys were able to create a powerful package for a fraction of the CCB price.

Their kit is called Radi-CAL and features some of the best calipers on the market. Up front, there are 6 pistons working at once that are encompassed by calipers which should be 20 percent stronger and 25 percent lighter than other comparable brake kits on the market.

The rotors feature a curve vaned design with a J-hook and are cross drilled and slotted with matching pads and stainless steel brake lines. The pads are made by the guys from Mintex Motorsports.

The price, you ask? Not nearly as much as you think. You can have your pick out of two sets: the 6-piston set costs $3,510.25 while the 4-piston one will set you back $3,415.25 at the moment. Since they are brand new on the market, you might want to hold off for a moment, to see if you can have them for a little less.
