It would seem that German tuner Hamann is currently looking to boost its range of products to all possible models in the BMW range. We’re all up for that as long as they remain classy.
Unlike what they released for more expensive models, for the F31 3 Series Touring, they went with a decent looking kit that changes the car’s appearance both up front and in the back.

‘But why would anyone be interested in such a kit for a Touring model?’ you might ask. You’d be right by some degree but you should remember that not everyone loves just sedans and some people really find wagons more attractive.

That’s not just from the practical side of things either. The cars look better if you ask them and we completely understand. Therefore, even though most manufacturers market the Touring models (or wagons/estates as others call them) as ‘family cars’, they can also appeal to the wild side of things.

Just look at the BMW range and you tell us that a 335d xDrive Touring car that has 313 HP and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque and does 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds can only be used as a family car. You’ll be drag racing with it in no time, believe us.

Getting back to the matter at hand here, the Hamann kit includes new aero parts, a new suspension and alloys, of course. The aero bits include a front spoiler and a new diffuser round the back. The wheels are the usual ‘culprits’ from Hamann, ranging from EVO anniversary to Edition race, in various colors as well. The suspension lowers the ride height by up to 30 mm and that’s about it.

Of course, you can also get a new ECU map and new exhaust that can come with 4 tips, depending on your preference. As far as the power output increases go thanks to the remap, you can basically get one for every model, from the 316d version up.
