Every muscle car enthusiast has their eyes on the new-gen Dodge Charger, which is offered with battery-electric power in an absolute premiere, next to the ICE models. However, it will have to be very darn good to steal the sales crown from its arch-rival, the Ford Mustang.
The Blue Oval's pony model was the best-selling sports car in the United States. According to Ford, more than 59,000 copies were delivered last year alone, contributing to the nearly one million examples sold in the past decade. On top of this, the Mustang remains the best-selling ride in its class in worldwide markets.

"We've sold more Mustangs in our history than the population of major cities like Chicago, London, or Seoul,” said Jeff Marentic, General Manager, North America/Global Truck, Family and Enthusiast Vehicles. "As we get set to celebrate Mustang's 60th anniversary, the same passion and excitement continues with our seven-generation Mustang, now headed to customers in 85 markets around the world."

Ford states that they will debut a special logo in Vermillion Red and Ebony Black this week in New York. Inspired by the wheel center caps and badging of the original Mustang shown at the 1964 World's Fair at the New York Auto Show, it will be joined by an exclusive feature that is said to launch on the new-gen Mustangs around April 17. This secret feature will arrive via over-the-air updates to owners of the latest generation pony car.

Deliveries of the 2024 Ford Mustang kicked off in 2023, roughly one year after the grand unveiling. The lineup comprises coupe and convertible body styles, V8 and EcoBoost four-pot firepower, and manual and automatic transmissions.

The most affordable version is the Mustang EcoBoost Fastback, which comes from $30,920 plus destination. The better-equipped Mustang EcoBoost Premium Fastback starts at $36,445. The EcoBoost 2.3L powertrain, which develops 315 hp (319 ps/235 kW) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque, is also available on the Mustang Convertible and Mustang Premium Convertible, with respective MSRPs of $39,020 and $41,945.

Opting for the Coyote V8 means paying a minimum of $41,960 for the Mustang GT Fastback, $46,480 for the GT Premium Fastback, and $51,980 for the GT Premium Convertible. The 5.0L naturally aspirated unit produces 480 hp (487 ps/358 kW) and 415 lb-ft (563 Nm). Choose the optional active exhaust system, and the output and thrust will increase to 486 hp (493 ps/363 kW) and 418 lb-ft (567 Nm).

Topping the 2024 Ford Mustang family is the Dark Horse. This model starts at $58,185 and $62,180 for the Dark Horse Premium and uses a slightly punchier version of the V8 lump powering the GT. In this case, it develops 500 hp (507 ps/373 kW) and 418 lb-ft (567 Nm).
