AMG GT (C190) and C 63 AMG (W205) Spotted Together

There are less than six months until the purported unveil of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT (C190) and less than a year until the C 63 AMG (W205) is unleashed on the BMW M3 F80, so Mercedes-Benz is still far from completing testing on the two models.
While the (highly) dynamic duo couldn't be more different if it wanted, the upcoming C 63 AMG (W205) and the AMG GT (C190) have one thing in common.

Both will be powered by different versions of an all-new AMG V8 engine with a four-liter displacement.

Nicknamed M177 in the C-Class and M178 in the AMG GT, the new twin-turbocharged V8 is set to replace the legendary M156 in all current AMG models and will have a power range between 480+ hp and 600+ hp, while its fuel consumption will be lower than a contemporary V6.

Sporting direct injection and the two turbochargers situated inside the cylinder banks (like the engines in the BMW M5 and the Audi RS6), the new M177/M178 is actually based on two M133 four-cylinders from the “45 AMG” models series bonded together in the Affalterbach/Frankenstein laboratories.

Unfortunately, the following video was shot with an HD potato and at night, so we can't hear how any of the two engine versions really sounds. As you can see, AMG is testing both the C 63 AMG W205 and the AMG GT C190 together, while the video was filmed in South Africa.
