Mountains and racetracks seem to make no difference for alpine superstars Aksel Lund Svindal and Ingemar Stenmark, who are open to trying it all. The two will be teaming up for the upcoming racing season of Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia.
The event focuses on young talent and semi-professional racers who want to take a step up from their club racing and participate in a racing series, which has Porsche Motorsport’s total support. The event runs during joint race weekends along with Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia’s elite racing.

For the 2022 championship, Aksel Lund Svindal and Ingemar Stenmark will be making a big change. While Stenmark already competed last year, it's all new for Lund Svindal.

In 2019, Aksel Lund Svindal, two-time Olympic Champion became a brand ambassador for Porsche and attended the press launch event of the Porsche Taycan. Fast forward two years later, he will be now racing for them.

"I must admit that I was surprised when Ingemar and Porsche Sweden asked me if I wanted to be in the team, as I don't have much experience in sports car racing, but I'm really looking forward to being part of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia," says Lund Svindal.

He had previously written on his Instagram, next to a picture of him and Stenmark in racing suits: “What do you do when you get an invitation from the LEGEND #IngemarStenmark and @porsche to be a part of a racing team? YOU SAY YES!

"Racing is great fun,” says Stenmark. “I already have one season in the championship behind me, and I really got a taste for it. There are so many similarities with high-speed skiing, such as advanced cornering and careful analysis of the course. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season and to competing together with, and against, Aksel."

Both will be racing in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, with Lund Svindal sporting the race number 82 and Stenmark the number 56.
