A new G-Class model doesn't come along every day, and neither does its Brabus equivalent. The Mercedes tuning specialists have just rolled out their first parts for the G 500, and this includes a power module.
The red hood decoration lets you know this is no longer a normal G 500. It's transitioned to a Brabus B40, which raises the output of the 4.0-liter V8 engine from 421 to 500 HP and from 610 Nm to 710 Nm of torque (449 lb-ft to 524 lb-ft).
As a result of this extra power, the G 500 is able to reach 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, but the limiter has been kept at 210 km/h (130 mph).
Of course, the body kit is what really lets people know this isn't a stock G-Class. At the front, Brabus have played with the bumper and updated the grille to their specifications. However, the most distinctive part is a giant carbon fiber air scoop that, unfortunately, is fake (blocked off).
Those crazy tuners now have made their own illuminated emblems and also added an array of LEDs, including a light bar placed over the top of the windshield. The decorations continue at the back with a large carbon fiber wing and more Brabus badges.
The photo gallery demonstrates several wheel designs, ranging from a subtle 20-inch setup to the 23-inch ‘Brabus Platinum Edition alloys with 305/35 tires. A new exhaust system has also been fitted and should sound good, considering the butterfly valves come with a control module.
The interior features only modest modifications, such as fresh carpets, Brabus aluminum pedals, and illuminated door sills. However, Brabus are the grand masters of colorful G-Class interiors done using only the best materials. Since it's all-new and sprinkled with the latest Mercedes gadgets, the interior doesn't need to be overpowered by blue leather. But you know it's coming a few years down the line!
