The 2025 Kia K4 has just been unveiled in New York. The automaker credits it with innovative technology, premium comfort, enhanced performance, and improved safety.
The all-new Kia K4 stands as proof that there is still room for sedans in a world where all customers want are crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. The Kia executives label it as a car that is "designed to exceed expectations" in order to survive in a segment that is slowly shrinking.

The model comes with an athletic, muscular design and bold proportions, confirmed by the descending fastback roofline and wide stance. It measures 185.4 inches in length and 72.8 inches in width, figures that make it the widest and sporting the largest footprint in the compact segment.

The K4 features vertical LED headlights and taillights, mirroring the design language of the EV9 flagship, while the rear door handles are hidden in the C-pillar to emphasize the minimalist design.

The GT-Line features gloss black accents, a satin chrome beltline, gloss black mirror caps, window trim, and side sill, and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. The range-topping K4 GT-Line Turbo also gets 18-inchers, small cube LED projection lights, and LED fog lights.

A larger-than-life screen of nearly 30 inches, integrates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen as standard. It also displays the Connected Car Navigation operating system with Over-the-Air capability, which made its debut in the EV9. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all K4 versions.

Saying "Hey Kia" activates voice control access to functions such as climate control and sound via the Kia Assistant, designed to listen for follow-up questions and interact with the driver in what should be a close-to-natural conversation.

Customers will be able to choose from five trim levels: LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo. They can go for either Medium Gray in the LX, LXS, and EX, or Slate Green in the EX. Meanwhile, the GT-Line versions get Onyx and Off-White.

Heated front seats are standard in the K4 GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo, while ventilated seats come as an option. Kia installed a unique three-spoke steering wheel on board the Kia K4 GT-Line.

The entry-level Kia K4 is powered by a 2.0-liter engine that delivers 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels through an intelligently variable transmission (IVT).

At the top of the range sits the version that is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, capable of generating 190 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, all managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. Drivers benefit from the presence of wheel-mounted paddle shifters and sport pedals.

Kia credits it with class-leading legroom of 38 inches and headroom of 37.3 inches, while the trunk provides 14.6 cubic feet of luggage space.

The K4 GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo are equipped with a multi-link rear suspension for sportier road behavior and extra lateral stiffness. To reduce noise and enhance comfort on board the K4, Kia came up with an acoustic windshield and acoustic tires for all versions that sport the 18-inch wheels.

For improved safety, the 2025 K4 receives standard rear-side airbags for a total of eight. The Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Lane Keeping Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go are all standard.

The 2025 Kia K4 will arrive in the United States in the second half of 2024 with Kia America's ten-year or 100,000-mile warranty. The automaker is going to release info on pricing and fuel economy.
