Italian automaker Alfa Romeo’s schedule is stretched to the limit, and it shows. They only had a couple of two-cylinder debuts in Frankfurt besides that silver version of the 4C concept we’ve already seen.
According to Detroit Free Press, the Italians have confirmed that the 4C will not enter production in 2012 as was originally planned. This sportscar is meant as a spearhead to take on the US market, so it’s one year delay to 2013 will also push back the trip across the pond that Alfa is making after a three decade absence.

The Alfa Romeo SUV has also been delayed a year to 2013, while the Giulia sedan will not come until 2014.

What’s more, Fiat Group has scrapped the plans to make its Alfa SUV at a Chrysler plant in Ohio.
