Italian automaker Alfa Romeo is planning to release a more powerful version of the Giulietta hatchback. According to Auto Express, the new version will use the same all-aluminum engine fitted in the 4C sportscar and sit above the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, which is rated at 232 HP.
The article suggests the new version will be marketed under the GTA moniker, but the details stop right there. If the rumors turns out to be true, the 4C-powered Giulietta GTA will boast 240 HP, only eight horses more than the QV. The new output will enable the hatch to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in about 6.5 seconds, about 0.3 seconds quicker.
As a reminder, the Alfa Romeo 4C is powered by a turbocharged 1.75-liter four-cylinder engine and can reach 62 mph from a standing start in only 4.5 seconds. The company’s brand new sportscar lapped the Nurburgring in 8:04 minutes.
