Alfa Romeo are making sure their Giulietta is not falling behind in its segment with a full engine improvement treatment applied throughout the entire Giulietta range.
Sure, the stunning Giulia has enough charm to steal the show on its own but Alfa Romeo decided not to neglect it's less glamorous models.
This means both the diesel and petrol mills found under Giulietta's hood are now compliant with the latest Euro 6 regulations. The only exception here is the recently-introduced 2.0 JTDM-2 turbodiesel good for 150 horsepower.
In the diesel range, the biggest improvement can be noticed for the 1.6 JTDM-2 turbo diesel banger. According to Alfa Romeo, an increase in power from 105 horsepower to 120 horsepower was possible. Also, by fitting the car with a variable-geometry turbocharger and low rolling-resistance tyres, CO2 emissions dropped from 104g/km to 99g/km.
Also, the engine allows a top speed of 121 mph (194.7 km/h), improved by six mph (9.6 km/h). The 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint is achievable in 10 seconds, 1.3 seconds faster than before.
Despite the improvements, pricing for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta range remains unchanged. Therefore, you can have the entry-level Giulietta 1.4 TB Progression with 120 horsepower for £18,450 (around $28,738 at current exchange rates).
With Alfa Romeo being Alfa Romeo, there's a Business Edition range available to those with high standards.
The pack offers a 6.5-inch touchscreen Uconnect infotainment system with voice-activated satellite navigation, 3D mapping and DAB digital radio, along with front and rear parking sensors; automatic lights and wipers, alloy wheels and metallic paint.
