The Alfa Romeo 4C has yet to arrive in showrooms, but the brand new sportscar is already set to inspire future vehicles built by the Italian automaker.
According to Autocar, quoting the company’s UK brand manager, Damien Dally, Alfa Romeo’s mainstream performance engine is expected to be the same all-aluminum 1,750cc powerplant that debuted in the 4C sportscars. Moreover, the lightweight body and downsized engine combo is also likely to be seen in the new-generation Alfa Romeo vehicles that will be lighter when compared to their rivals.

Dally also revealed that the first new Alfa Romeo to arrive won’t be the Giulia, with Autocar adding that the company’s highly-anticipated SUV is likely to be launched first in order for the Italians to take advantage of the ever growing segment.

In other related news, the Alfa Romeo 4C will hit British customers and dealerships in September.
