Because of the rarity of the beast, most tuning shops have stayed away from the Alfa Romeo 4C. The Italians extracted most of the available power from the engine anyway, so we were shocked by the extremes that Pogea Racing went to. Their version of the 4C is nothing short of a fantastic car.
Few people would ever complain about having 240 hp in a sportscar that weighs only one ton. However, Pogea extracted 313 PS and 435 Nm (321 lb-ft) of torque using only their Stage 1 Plus package.
If they wanted to, they could have gone over 400, but we think the output of an Audi TTS is enough. One Pogea-tuned Alfa 4C has reached 415 hp back in 2013.
"To achieve this, various engine modifications are necessary: new turbochargers, tubular exhaust manifold and an exhaust system with valve control will replace the serial components. In addition, we optimize the fuel supply and the cooling system. It is a well-tuned optimized engine management," said Eduard Pogea, founder of the company.
The engine tuning has had a profound effect on performance: 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, 200 km/h in 14 seconds and a top speed of 301 km/h.
For the record, a stock 4C needs 4.5 seconds to reach the benchmark speed and can only reach hot hatch top speeds (258 km/h).
As you may have noticed, many changes were made to the bodywork. To help cut weight and make the car look good, they installed added a carbon-fiber front spoiler, rear diffuser, and rear bumper panel.
However, our favorite piece is the rear spoiler that's also available in carbon fiber and is said to generate 35 kilograms of downforce.
The Centurion, as this 4C is called, also received adjustable coilover suspension setup developed with KW. To match the stance, they installed 19-inch black alloy wheels at the rear and 18-inch ones at the front. Completing the project is a custom exhaust that's built in-house and lets everyone know an exotic is coming.
