In case you were wondering, Lusso stands for luxury in Italian, and you don’t need too many pictures with this classic Prancing Horse to feel the exclusive prestige around it. Created by Turin’s Pininfarina, the Grand touring-oriented 250 Berlinetta was rendered by Scaglietti. Currently owned by Maroon 5 front man and panelist on NBC’s hit TV show, Adam Levine, it will go under the hammer soon.
It’s not like Russo and Steele aren’t already one of the most exclusive auction houses on the market, but this year is a special one for them. They are celebrating their 15th appearance at the Monterey auction, which means they are planning to go big this year.

It’s safe to say Adam Levine’s Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso is one of the A-listers, considering these models have enjoyed seven-figure sales. And let’s be honest, it doesn’t seem like the values of the classic Prancing Horse is getting any lower.

We need to look closer to understand what’s going on here, though. The Lusso’s chassis and engine were closely related to those employed by the competition 250 GT SWB and 250 GTO. We’re looking at a V12 with triple Weber twin-choke carburetors quoted at 240-250 horsepower. This output made the Prancing Horse be quite fast, with a 0 to 60 mph acceleration in 8 seconds which is not bad given the car's age.

As a classic sportscar enthusiast, Adam Levine is taking the seat next to famous Lusso owners like Battista “Pinin” Farina himself, and Hollywood’s iconic “King of Cool,” Steve McQueen.

Subsequent ownership of this particular breed includes a list of other fans of the genre, which made the car stay in quite a good shape. The classic Ferrari went through more than one restoration, with the latest being conducted last year at Gran Touring Classics in Long Beach, including attention to its braking, cooling, electrical, fuel, and ignition systems.
