Acura Official Avengers Cars: NSX Roadster, SHIELD MDX

As you already know, Acura is the official automaker for the upcoming blockbuster film "The Avengers", due in theaters on May 4, 2012. Their vehicles have already been featured in the Thor movie, and now it’s time to see what they’re bringing to the table when all the Marvel heroes get together to punch the baddies.
First off, we’d like to focus on the NSX Roadster, a concept Honda once said didn’t exist, then explained it was only a movie car, after which it was turned into a production-intent concept. Thankfully, they never managed to pull off a fast one on us, but we’re still genuinely curious what he NSX will be like as Tony Stark’s car.

In the Avengers movie, the ckly snapped a few shots of the car and its very impressive specs. The supercar is supposed to be powered by a 80,000 TOHC 32-valve engine with titanium-forged block and nitrous fuel-injection system. This runs on palladium, the first element used by mr. Stark to run the core that kept him alive.

The vehicle is supposed to cost well over $9 million and comes with bullet- and foreign element-proof clear coat and metal skin, flares, a windscreen that does scans in the UV spectrum. and a palm-scan ID steering wheel. Oh, and it’s supposed to do 302 mpg highway.

"Before we unveiled the NSX Concept in Detroit, a number of you speculated that the car spotted right here in Central Park in the company of Iron Man Tony Stark was actually the new NSX," said Acura Vice President Mike Accavitti, at the company’s New York Auto Show press conference.

Acura also unveiled the vehicle of choice for the S.I.E.L.D. agents that are trying to keep Earth from being destroyed by creatures from other dimensions. An MDX SUV is used in a rugged matte paint and equipped with a large bullbar.
