It's tin foil hat time, folks, so let's jump right in! Today, we have two juicy conspiracy theories regarding Grand Theft Auto VI, the likes of which we haven't seen since last Halloween. Video game legend Troy Baker denies he's playing Jason, and a new Bravado Banshee was sort of spotted in a leaked Rockstar image.
First, let's start with Troy Baker: the man, the myth, the legendary voice behind Booker DeWitt (Bioshock: Infinite), Sam Drake from Uncharted 4, Joker (Batman: Arkham Origins), and, of course, Joel from PlayStation's "The Last Of Us." There are a couple hundred more roles I've left out, but they are of no consequence here.

Recently, during a video interview on the YouTube channel "The Movie Dweeb," Troy was asked about the rumors that he might be playing Jason in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI game. This all started with the release of the GTA 6 trailer on December 5, 2023, when Jason said his one-word line: "Trust."

Like the media-trained pro that he is, Troy perfectly dodged the question with plausibilities and said in a high-pitched voice: "He says one word! He says trust!" Then he complimented the unknown Jason actor: "That right there is a lesson in perception. So people think, and they just automatically assume. And I want that guy, whoever it is, to get credit for his work. I'm sure it's gonna be great."

The voice and tone sound unmistakably like Troy Baker, but in all fairness, it's just one word. Hundreds of actors can sound exactly like him. However, if he were indeed playing Jason, Troy would be buried under NDA contracts and couldn't confirm something like that, much like the first supposed Jason actor, Bryan Zampella, did when he was in the spotlight.

As a huge Troy Baker fan, I do hope it's him. Aside from the legendary Nolan North, Troy is the greatest actor in the video game industry and could give a phenomenal and undying performance as Jason, just like he did with Joel from TLOU. Now it's time for act two of the tin foil hat mysteries, the case of the Bravado Banshee.

Recently, on the all-resourceful Reddit, someone apparently snatched an image, or better said, a logo, from Rockstar Games' 25th-anniversary employee holiday party. It's unlikely that this logo will replace the current one, but something is indeed amiss with a certain part of the artwork that involves the Banshee.

After analyzing every pixel from the supposed leak, people have concluded that the Banshee model from the image is an updated version of the GTA V or Online one. At the same time, it could just be the artist behind the "for internal use only" logo sketching a slightly different version because they felt like it that day.

The Grand Theft Auto VI trailer does feature one single frame of the Banshee, but it's through a zoomed-out and cropped security camera-like footage that looks too rough to contrast and compare carefully. Now for the kicker! People have found more evidence from a former internal Rockstar logo involving a helicopter that was later added to the game. So, could this be how the Banshee will look in GTA VI? Maybe a second trailer will solve this mystery once and for all.

The Bravado Banshee is an extremely popular sports car in the Grand Theft Auto universe, especially in GTA V and Online. It's been around since the 2001 days of Grand Theft Auto III.

Since then, it's made appearances in every important GTA title like Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, GTA IV, Chinatown Wars, you name it. It's even in the new GTA VI trailer, albeit in a terrible-looking manner. The Banshee currently comes in a hardtop, convertible, and a highly tuned Banshee 900R version.

It's inspired by the real-life Dodge Viper RT/10, which changed how American sports cars looked and felt. At least, that's how Dodge tells the story. But kidding aside, when the Viper was first introduced as a concept car in '89 at the North American International Auto Show, people gasped at the sight of it.

Folklore has it that Chrysler's big boss at the time, Bob Lutz, wanted a more modern and ferocious version of the 1985 Autocraft MK-IV Cobra. Thus, the awe-inspiring Dodge Viper was born... even though it had some potentially dangerous side exhausts, it lacked handles and had a fixed roof. The funny part is that customers couldn't care less.

The Viper proudly donned an 8.0-liter V10 powerplant capable of delivering 449 hp or 455 ps with 490 lb-ft or 664 Nm of torque. This RWD venomous snake had a top speed of 180.2 mph or 290 kph and got from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds.

For better or worse, Dodge kept making the Viper until 2017, when the nameplate was retired. The last generation was nothing to scoff at, either. Under the hood of the SRT Viper, you'll find a hand-assembled 8.4-liter V10 monster capable of outputting 640 hp with 649 ps with 600 lb-ft or 813 Nm of torque.

Naturally, it was also RWD and came with a 6-speed manual transmission system. Some tracked its top speed at 206 mph or 332 kph. Other sources say it can hit 62 mph or 100 kph in as fast as 3.5 seconds.

While the Dodge Viper now has a legendary history, one less known part is terribly funny. Even until 2024, Dodge dealerships didn't sell every single unit ever produced, so there are a few left somewhere in a dark basement covered in dusty tarps.

In 2021, for example, four Vipers were sold. In 2022, just one managed to get away, and in 2023, two more were sold. As for the price, rumor has it that while in 2017 the MSRP was around $88,000, a "new" one can go as high as $300,000.

Grand Theft Auto V broke seven Guiness world records when it launched and now stands as the third most sold video game of all time at almost 200 million copies. GTA VI has some pretty big shoes to fill. However, given the worldwide phenomenon GTA Online has become since it launched, the sixth installment of the game might easily defeat all of V's records in a heartbeat.
