With the second generation of the Porsche Panamera being just around the corner, we've noticed the tuning world has started to get its hands on the Panamera that started it all.
The favorite model seems to be the Turbo (no surprise here) that came out before the mid-cycle revamp released in 2013. And it's safe to say that, once the new four-door Zuffenhausen machine starts landing on driveways, more and more of the early Panameras will go down the custom route.
For now, we want to show you an example of the Panamera Turbo that makes full use of the machine's twin-turbo 4.8-liter V8 without the owner having to invest a fortune into the workout process.
This Panamera has been handled by Arizona-based Vivid Racing, with the result being... a sleeper - that's what we'd call such a Porsche that looks 100% percent stock but has jumped from 500 to 700 horses.
The visit to the gym started with working on the factory turbos, with larger compressor inlets leading the list of updates on this front. A complete exhaust makeover followed, with Meisterschaft hardware stepping in.
The final step was an ECU remap and since this Porsche can't be tweaked using the OBD port, the aftermarket developer had to put the car's ECU on its bench.
A few dyno runs later, the 700 hp Panamera Turbo was born. Speaking of which, you can listen to the four-door coupe's dyno growl in the first clip below, while the video at the bottom of the page shows the car demonstrating its potential through the gears. And we're referring to both the sprinting and the aural possibilites offered by the vehicle.
P.S.: Those of you who want to know what happens when a Panamera Turbo owner decides to go for the opposite, showoff tuning approach should check out this story.
