4x4 Off-Grid-Capable Sprinter Van Features All the Bells and Whistles, You Can Win It

What we have here is a 2022 4x4 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter that's been heavily outfitted to become an off-roading beast, sporting a 3.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine. In fact, the 2022 model year was the last generation to come with this V6 engine.

Forged 4x4 is the owner of this rig. It's a brand that sells apparel, accessories, and even vehicles related to all things off-road. Moreover, the company organizes giveaways for off-road rigs, the latest of which is the Sprinter we're talking about today.

Forged 4x4 bought the vehicle a year ago, and the Arizona-based Tommy Camper Vans converted it. Let's take a closer look at the rig, starting with its exterior. As soon as you lay eyes on it, you'll figure out it's ready to hit the trails. Regarding aesthetics, it boasts an imposing black and grey look.

At the front, you'll discover a CAtuned steel bumper with two Baja LP6 lights and a powerful Warn winch. Up top, an additional 50-inch light bar will light up the road ahead.

One of the most important modifications to create an off-road-ready camper is the suspension. In this regard, the rig boasts a 2-inch Van Compass lift kit with Falcon adjustable shocks. What's more, it rides on 17-inch Black Rhino Atlas wheels wrapped in 33-inch Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx M+S tires.

You’ll find CAtuned steps on the sides, which also serve as rock sliders. Another notable feature is a ladder complete with Molle panels and two Vanspeed flares that increase the interior space. Furthermore, at the rear, you'll notice a CAtuned spare tire carrier and a CAtuned rear bumper with built-in parking sensors and lights. Finally, on the roof, you'll discover a sleek Flatline Van Co. roof rack holding 200 W solar panels and an A/C.

Step inside the rig and a finely designed interior will surround you - it beautifully blends a white ceiling with walnut countertops. Furthermore, there's one distinctive design touch: a custom mosaic ceiling insert.

I'll start with the driver's cabin, where you'll notice the driver's and passenger's seats can be swiveled. Moreover, there's a vast swivel table nearby, accessible from both seats. This Sprinter van also came with a few extra options, such as adaptive cruise control or Apple CarPlay.

The next space in this interior is occupied by a seating area featuring a small bench with storage underneath. Because Forged 4x4 wanted the vehicle to be a family adventure vehicle, they added seatbelts to the bench.

Part of the entrance is blocked by a kitchen countertop, which integrates a single-burner induction stove, a farmhouse sink with an extendable faucet, and drawers and cabinets for storage. On the wall behind it, you'll find a Renogy battery monitor, USB ports, and switches for the dimmable lights and utility systems.

The other part of the kitchen is located on the opposite side. It comprises a small butcher block countertop with a decently sized Dometic fridge underneath. Furthermore, four enormous overhead cabinets on the driver's side of the interior run from the front to the rear.

And lastly, we have the bedroom at the very rear of the van. It features a large bed with a 6-inch foam mattress and a Dometic RTX 2000 A/C on the ceiling. Because of the Vanspeed flares, even those with a height of 6'2" can sleep on the bed.

That was it regarding the living space. The final part of the van is a garage, accessible from both inside (through a door under the bed) and outside. There's a bunch of space in the middle to store bulkier items, and the utility systems occupy the sides.

The electrical system comprises four 100 Ah batteries, a 3,000 W inverter, and a DC/DC charger connected to the van's alternator, among other components.

On the opposite side, the plumbing system is made up of a 30-gallon (114-liter) freshwater tank, a Sure Flow water filtration system, and an outdoor shower. By the way, the water used by the sink drains in a removable five-gallon (19-liter) gray water canister located in a cabinet underneath.
