Bang & Olufsen has just unveiled its new portable Bluetooth speaker which is hard as a rock and rocks you just as hard, delivering 27 hours of high-quality playtime.
Beosound Explore is the new release of the Danish audio manufacturer. It’s a portable Bluetooth speaker and the toughest one in Bang & Olufsen’s catalog. Beosound Explore uses type II anodized aluminum and is designed to outstand the outdoors elements, according to the company.
The speaker is scratch-resistant, fully dust, and waterproof, with an IP67 certification. That means you can submerge it in one-meter deep water for up to 30 minutes and it will work just fine.
The cylindrical-shaped speaker weighs 637 grams (22 oz) with the included carabiner and measures 81 W x 124 H x 81 D mm (3.1 W x 4.8 H x 3.1 D in). It comes in three colors, black, green, and gray, although the latter won’t be available for shipping until this summer.
Its included strap and carabiner make it easy to clip it or strap it anywhere on you, be it your backpack, belt, and so on.
While it is mall enough to comfortably fit in your palm, Beosound’s dual 1.8-inch full-range drivers deliver a punchy, confident sound with plenty of bass. The speaker has a frequency range of 56 Hz to 22.7 kHz. You can customize the EQ and use sound presets using the Bang & Olufsen mobile app.
The speaker features an impressive battery life which offers you up to 27 hours of playtime at typical listening volumes. Its 2,400 mAh battery takes 2 hours to fully charge.
The Beosound Explore speaker can now be ordered on the company’s website for €200 (approximately $240). As we’ve already mentioned it, it is only available in black and green for now, with the gray mist version following sometime this summer.
