At the end of 2023, the American landscape was unchanged as far as the automotive market was concerned – the top three vehicular choices were the Ram pickup truck series, the Chevrolet Silverado nameplate, and the Ford F-Series.
General Motors and Ford alternatively bragged about their domination of the US full-size pickup truck sector – the Blue Oval claims it has the best-selling nameplate (F-Series), while GM bragged about the overall crown when it tallied together the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra series. Meanwhile, the Ram Trucks options are the eternal bronze medalists, of course.

So, the F-Series sold almost 751k units, the Chevy Silverado followed at a distance with over 543k vehicles, and Ram Trucks wasn't too far behind with nearly 445k examples. Interestingly, the company is willing to take significant action to ensure its future – while the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 and the all-new Super Duty don't bring major changes in the powertrain departments, the same cannot be said about the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup.

Instead, the latter will feature the V6 with eTorque mild hybrid as the base option, whereas the Hemi V8s are no more. Instead, they were replaced by two instances of the 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six turbo family, one with 420 hp and the high-output version with 540 ponies. The mighty 702-hp Ram TRX will no longer be after the 2024 model year as its replacement is the Ram 1500 RHO.

That one won't be the powerhouse of the family anymore, an honor which is attributed to the all-new first-ever 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger range extender and Ram 1500 REV all-electric models. Naturally, all these changes mean only one thing – the big kahuna's Ram 2500 and 3500 HDs are probably following suit for the 2025 or 2026 model year, most likely also devoid of the big V8 (6.4-liter HD Hemi MDS) and possibly even losing the 6.7-liter inline-six Cummins turbo diesel.

But before we start listening to the rumor mill's fantasies about the potential Ram HD Hurricane, Ramcharger, or REV variants, let's think a little about the looks. Since it is too early to see them in real life in any official capacity, let us defer to the imaginative realm of digital car content creators for the unofficial design project.

More precisely, the Halo oto channel on YouTube provides fresh automotive info corroborated with their virtual designs; now, there are some new CGI ideas about Ram's 2500 HD. Well, as it turns out, even the parallel universes of vehicular CGI follow the same precepts as official sources, and the informal 2026 Ram 2500 HD, just like the 2025 Ram 1500, doesn't feature major changes compared to its predecessor.

In fact, the modifications are so subtle the channel's resident pixel master went out of his or her usual way and provided a quick comparison between the hypothetical facelift and the current Ram 2500 HD models. So, do you like it or not?
